Wingate University SportsClient ObjectivesFlying Bridge has worked together with Wingate University on several projects. For the Wingate Sports website, they wanted something completely different. The website should not resemble an academic entity in any way. The sports website needed to have a "wow" factor and be very informative. It should appeal to fans and prospective athletes. Flying Bridge SolutionsIn order to achieve the "wow" factor Wingate Sports requested, Flying Bridge knew some primary areas of the home page needed to be built in Flash. We thought it needed more of an ESPN.com feel. High content, high impact. To accomplish this a Flash news ticker was created and it flows across the top of the website. Also, an event calendar was developed in Flash. Both applications give the user more interaction and more information without requiring lots of screen real estate. FBT also wanted to add some character to the website. As an 'Easter egg', if you move your cursor near the bulldog mascot, he will rip it to shreds. Of course, there is also extensive use of dynamic content for news, scores, and more. All of this content management can be controlled by Wingate Sports through a complete custom administrative area. Post Project ResultsThe Wingate Sports website has been very well received and continues to receive compliments. Fans and visitors alike really love the bulldog Easter egg. |
